Flu Season

In the DC metro area the- flu season last through mid March. We give the immunizations at the end of October to provide longer coverage.

The flu is an airborn virus – spreading from droplets from a cough or sneeze. Adults can spread the disease from day one before any symptoms appear through day five. Children can pass along the virus for more than seven days.

To prevent the flu from spreading, you should stay home when you are sick, get plenty of rest and wash your hands often. Do not come into the office with the flu..there is little we can do for you.

Some research shows that Elderberry juice will decrease the length and the severity of the flu if taken within the first 72 hrs of symptoms.
